Veeners

If you are unhappy with the look and feel of your teeth veneers can help to restore the smile you want.

In order to be sure veeners are right for you, a dentist first needs to complete a thorough dental exam. A veneer is a custom-made tooth-colored overlay that is attached directly to your natural tooth. Veneers improve the appearance of each tooth by covering the visible front surface. Our dentists here at our dental office can complete a porcelain veneer treatment in just one office visit.

With proper care and good oral hygiene, veneers can last 5-10 years. A veneer is often prescribed for a tooth that is: discolored or stained, worn down, chipped or broken, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped. Veneers also help fill unwanted gaps between two healthy teeth.

After your dental exam, a dentist will discuss treatment options with you and answer your questions. If treatment for veneers are needed the dentist will first apply a local anesthetic to the affected area of your mouth and remove a thin amount of enamel from the front of your tooth to make it ready to fit the veneer properly. 3-D imaging is used to design and create your veneer. The dentist will clean and polish the tooth's front surface and bond the veneer in place on your natural tooth. To permanently attach it the veneer is then exposed to a special hand-held light. This light hardens the repaired surface of your tooth. The results, a beautiful smile.
